About Us

At Children’s Hospital Colorado, we're not just leading transformative research for the sake of innovation. We're using it to pioneer treatments with the hope of eradicating childhood disease and changing pediatric medicine — giving all kids a chance at a healthier future. The Department of Pediatrics conducts cutting-edge research across the entire breadth of pediatrics. Our facilities, talented leadership, increased funding and new programs are working together to ensure the Department continues to make discoveries that will improve children’s health and will train the future pediatric investigators who will discover tomorrow’s treatments and cures.

Children’s Hospital Colorado is located on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (UC-AMC), a 227-acre campus which brings together three hospitals, six health sciences schools, and 11.3 million ft2 of research and education training facilities providing adjacencies of world-class clinical, educational, and research health science faculty. The purpose of the AMC is to build a culture of collaboration among clinicians, investigators, and educators to invigorate research. With sponsored research awards totaling more than $400 million annually, UC-AMC has a long history of training investigators for patient-oriented research careers.

Our studies of chronic suppurative respiratory diseases are supported by and conducted through our Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI) at UC-AMC. The mission of the CCTSI is to improve health by speeding the application of biomedical discoveries to the patient. This will be accomplished by transforming the research environment, training and collaborations among the University of Colorado Denver, University of Colorado Boulder and the six affiliated hospital partners. The CCTSI places a strong emphasis on “bridging” basic sciences and biotechnology to clinical sciences.
