RDCRN Publishes First-Ever Annual Report

November 2, 2026

The Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network (RDCRN), a national network of research groups collaborating to advance discoveries in rare diseases, has published their first-ever Annual Report.

Established in 2002 after Congress passed the Rare Diseases Act, the RDCRN is a network of researchers, clinicians, patients, and advocates supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Through the RDCRN, research consortia study at least three related rare diseases at clinical sites across the nation.

Now in its fifth funding cycle, the RDCRN supports 23 rare disease research groups and a Data Management and Coordinating Center. Over the years, the RDCRN has supported hundreds of studies at over 300 clinical sites, resulting in more than 3,000 publications.

In the 2026 RDCRN Annual Report, you can read about research consortia achievements, early career investigators, patients and patient advocacy groups, and other network accomplishments.
